How Gas Distributors Are Growing with Pulsa Proof Point #2: Visibility into more of your assets
A mix of different sensors allows tracking of more inventory
To effectively manage a diverse range of assets, gas distributors require a variety of sensor types that can adapt to different applications. This need for flexibility is exemplified by the experience of Dave Garner, Regional Manager at Maryland-based Roberts Oxygen. He emphasizes, “It’s one size fits all with other solutions, but that’s not how gas distribution works. We need flexibility and that’s what we get with Pulsa. They have different sensor types that adapt to our needs.”
Marlana Harris, Bulk Dispatch Supervisor at Idaho-based Norco, echoes this sentiment, emphasizing “Pulsa’s diverse range of sensor offerings holds significance because it grants us visibility into assets previously beyond our reach.”
Adding value with data
Beyond operational efficiencies, the breadth of Pulsa's toolset creates new value for distributors and their customers alike. Thea Bunde, Bulk & Specialty Gas Account Manager at Minnesota-based Toll Gas, highlights, “Pulsa has a variety of sensor types which helps us measure more assets. For example, the Pulsa scales have saved us a ton of same-day deliveries. We use the scales with our lab and life sciences, and manufacturing customers. They can even place huge drums of wire on them, so our value extends beyond gas monitoring and management.”
Joshua Edwards, Beverage Division Manager at Pennsylvania-based Kint Beverage Concepts, emphasizes the value of Pulsa's Temperature Sensors in providing better service and differentiation in their market.
Seamless integration for enhanced visibility
Pulsa's extensible system design allows for the integration of various telemetry options, including third-party sensors. Thomas Litzkow, Engineered Systems Applications Specialist at Toll Gas, emphasizes the ease of integration with the Pulsa Link communicator for situations that require flexibility. “We love Pulsa Industrial Weight Scales,” he says, “But in cases when the customer is price sensitive, or when an Industrial Weight Scale won't physically fit into a space, the Pulsa Link can be the perfect solution.” Weight and temperature sensing can be profitable opportunities; many distributors upsell the customer by adding a Light Scale to a 50 lb. backup cylinder and selling that same lab or restaurant temperature sensors.
Andy Castiglione, President of San Diego-based WestAir, affirms the business need to have diverse sensors: “Having different kinds of sensors makes clear business sense. Now we've got high-pressure sensors, scales, and the Pulsa Link.” He says, “We have every customer product and application covered with telemetry.”
