The following is a guest post by Jeff Quigley at Kint Beverage Concepts.
This is a story about how far we’ve come as a business and how Pulsa is helping us get there.
To give you a little background, Kint was built from the ground up over three generations. In the early 2000s we sold our bulk CO2 division to a larger company. After the dust settled we recently started over again. We now have the manpower and we’re re-growing it. Because of this we have almost all new tanks and equipment. We don’t have to deal with any of the old stuff, no retro-fitting.
I’ve been a Service Technician/ Installer for 26 years and I’ve seen a lot over that time. We’re encouraged to try out new products and see what works best so I have stories about telemetry products over the years. Back in the 90’s the original telemetry systems that came out were a mess. They were bulky and we had to run phone lines through a computer– it was horrible. We had a dot matrix printout of all the stops. It was a lot of work, and not very reliable– we still had to run trucks out too much.
After trying a lot of things, we made the decision last year to have Pulsa on all our tanks. Every tank out there has Pulsa telemetry on it. We have Chart and Cyl-Tec tanks. Sometimes we need a batch of tanks fast so they’ll ship them with the telemetry separately in a bag. At first we started adding the Pulsa Industrial Scales to new tanks, and we still do a lot of times when there’s no telemetry or when there’s a situation where it makes sense. When telemetry is already there we usually just add the Pulsa Link to the tank and it's so easy. With Pulsa it’s great- it works. That’s a real big deal!
When I think back to the early days and how hard and inefficient it was, it was such a waste of time. Compare that to Pulsa and it's like night and day. Even compared with some of the current telemetry products out there today, Pulsa is so much easier and there’s less hassle. I don’t have to worry about getting kicked off of a Wi-Fi network or the readings being spotty. Pulsa uses cellular and it always seems to be online. And with cellular, you just plug it in, and it’s there. It’s easy. The information is on my tablet so I can see what’s going on all day long and bring it to someone’s attention. I can tell a customer how full they are- that’s a game changer. We’re totally paperless now.
I can’t imagine getting back into this business without Pulsa. It saves so much time, fuel and money. It has changed things for the better for Kint.
