What’s involved with this upgrade? It begins with a connection to your third-party sensors, and Pulsa has got them covered, no matter what systems you may have. We’ve engineered five different custom connectors in-house that can interface with tanks that cover 95% of use cases.

Even without a custom connector, the Link can be easily connected to any device with 4-20mA or 0-5V outputs. Think temperature sensors, CO2 ppm monitors, flow monitors, and more.

How Pulsa Link signals are transmitted to the Pulsa Dashboard
Once tank sensors have been upgraded with the Pulsa Link, they’re ready to communicate with the Pulsa Gateway. Data is transmitted every few minutes from the Link-enabled tank to the Gateway via the 2.4 GHz band. Each Pulsa Link can wirelessly send data up to 350 feet of line of sight to the Pulsa Gateway. Pulsa Gateways are plug-and-play and make retrofitting quick and easy. Both 5V-powered plug-in and solar-powered versions are available to suit every site's needs. Once the Gateway receives its data from any type of Pulsa sensor – pressure, weight, etc. – it sends it to the Pulsa Dashboard via a modern cellular connection, again, covering more than 400 different cellular providers. Many customers operate outside the stable coverage areas of giant providers like Verizon and AT&T. For distributors that serve customers in these fringe or out-of-range regions, Pulsa offers a great opportunity for new telemetry.
Final setup steps for the Pulsa Link
Assuming you’ve already created a Pulsa account, your dashboard will be ready to receive readings shortly after the Link and the Gateway have made their first communication. Note: there are no phone calls required for setup with Pulsa! Install on your schedule, not ours. At this point, you’ll be prompted to create a “Profile” for the tank that’s been upgraded. Here you’ll create useful names such as Cooler A, Storage B, etc. and assign the desired values for the measurements, such as pounds, PSI, inches, WC, etc. You will also be prompted to set a minimum and maximum fill value to determine percent full and set alerts later. In the Pulsa Dashboard, the Profiles can be sorted by various criteria, providing at-a-glance intelligence that’s updated continuously throughout the day. Learn more at our Help Center.
